~ CONNECTED IN THE WEB OF ONENESS ~
Dear Ones..
What a delight to play together in consciousness, diving more deeply into the innate sensibilities we each carry! I was particularly inspired by the mug and image sharing round describing our deep sensibilities and sharing about the tools we have to work with those gifts with other people! Thank you for your participation! It was fun to get to know each of you better through your sensibilities!
I am reminding you of the Dream Weaver Circle on Friday at 10am that Kore will focalize.. Come play with us there in Dreamtime! And a reminder, if you are interested in my upcoming course on Feminine Alchemy, please follow this link to the Shift Network.
Soul Salon: Sensibili-TEA
Sensibility is the acute perception of or responsiveness toward something. The ability to appreciate and respond to complex emotional or aesthetic influences with delicacy, subtlety and empathy. In contradistinction to Sensible..which is defined as functional or practical.. How did two words that started from the same entomological stem of “sensib” end up in such radically different places when the root of both words is the same? Hum? I am curious. Let’s put a tracker on the situation..
Once upon a time there was a child born with acute sensory skills who would spend hours communing with flowers, faeries and animals in her garden. She was empathic toward all living things and as a result would be able to walk into a room and instantly and acutely feel the complex emotional atmosphere that beings in the space radiated. Her mother on the other hand, was ultimately practical and most sensible. When the little girl would try to tell her mother about her conversations with the animals or flowers or faeries, the mother would roll her eyes and tell her that that was not possible and that she should stop saying things about such things as they were untrue. Well you can easily see what happened to this little girl with the acute sensibilities .. She stopped reporting such things, and eventually lost the ability to respond to or perceive those delicate and subtle interactions. What a sad loss.. (By the way, I didn’t know what was going to come out when I started writing that.. and it turns out it is my personal story with my own mother! I did finally regain that sensibility after I finally got over any concern about other’s perceiving me as weird or strange.) So since this is often the story of highly sensitive beings like yourselves, let’s look at that recovery and reclamation process together.

To what did you have an unusual sensibility or an acute responsiveness toward in your childhood? How did your sensibility play out?

Do you have an ability to read complex emotional atmospheres or subtle aesthetic influences? What does that look like or play out like in you?

What has your recovery and reclamation of these childhood sensibilities looked like?

As an adult how do these sensibilities appear or play out in you? Do you see them as a gift or talent or a problem?

The thing that both words sensibility and sensible have in common is the word sense..
So it is clear that both start in the senses.. either to dampen the senses with a focus on practicality and linear functionality or to enhance our innate sensibilities through focused support of the senses and thus enhanced sensitivities.

So how can we enhance and support our innate sensibilities? What can we do to develop for example, complex reception of aesthetic influences and perception? (What is that exactly? (give the example of Beethoven and the wind).
Blessings to your joyful unfolding!
In Devotion.. ariel
